Come and say hi

Unread postby 01i » Fri Jan 30, 2015 6:07 pm

I know the message boards currently look a bit empty, but that's only because they are new. Feel free to post in any forum that you have access to, and hopefully we'll get this community up and running quite quickly.

The first batch of members are coming in via Ganesha Games' Fightin' Fungi kickstarter project, but there are a few other projects in the works, and each will be providing play test access to pledgers.

If you don't know where to start, then why not use this forum (or this thread) to introduce yourself.

I'll get us started.

I'm Oliver Piotrowski, I'm from Eastbourne UK, am 35 and I also often go by the online name Kaz.

I am the Creative Director for Table Warfare Ltd, who provide various services relating to tabletop gaming. Mostly relating to the commissioning and sculpting of miniatures. I am also the lead developer for an online browser-based strategy war game called Monarchy, which is set in a 17 year old fantasy world called Tonan.

Soon we will be releasing a kickstarter campaign to finish getting a series of artwork commissioned. This artwork once complete, will be used in a new strategy playing card game based on Monarchy, and featuring several unique elements. The game will be a cross between a kingdom building strategy game, a tabletop wargame, a deck building card game, and stratego.

Our first Kickstarter will be rewarding mostly Postcard & T-Shirts, but there will be a few additional reward options from our existing catalogue including miniatures, weapons for modifying miniatures, and armatures for sculpting them.

Everyone who pledges for that campaign will also gain access to a brainstorming and design forum where you will not only get the chance to playtest "Monarchy : Cards of Tonan", but as we'll be giving access early in the development phase, you will also be able to make suggestions that will effect how the game works at a fundamental level.

I'll post more once the initial Kickstarter is ready.

Boris, a Fightin' Fungi backer from Germany. I'm planning to build an army for Hordes of the Things, but will give the skirmish rules a try, too. A few people around here are occasionally playing SoBH.

Hello,

I'm from Illinois (USA), backer of the Fightin' Fungi Kickstarter. I play Song of Blades with my kids, so having something wildly different for an army will be a blast.

I like the simplicity of the game versus my other two skirmish games (Warlord by Reaper miniatures and Warmachine and Hordes by Privateer Press). I don't play army based games simply because I don't have enough space to store armies the way I would want to paint them.
