Hmm, that seems a bit pricey, when you can spend 5 pts to get a +1 that applies in all circumstances, with no 1 out of 6 significant drawback.
The way its written, I don't think I would field a model with this special ability.

My point was simply that the rule stated that the figure must have a shield, hence my confusion. I *thought* that the only way to disarm someone in FiFu is to have a model that physically has a shield, but I now see that Butterfly Parry is a non-shield disarm. I think there might be a typo though. T...

Ah, I thought there might be a general rule I missed since Disarming Block requires a shield, and I don't often think of disarming requiring a shield.

What about making Disarm itself a special ability? That way, it is used by those who want to do that and it could state in its rule that those with 'martial arts' special rules are immune to Disarm. For SBH-based games, I like adding complexity through Special rules as opposed to general rules addit...

Could you simply add being subject to concentrated fire for the poorer roll condition (surrounded/fallen)?

For Expert Block, what if you have them roll 2 dice and take the better of the two. The odds are really similar: 1) Roll a 5 or 6 - 0.333333 2) Roll a 4,5, or 6 - 0.5 3) Roll a 5 or 6 on two dice - 0.56 (a little better) 4) Roll a 6 on two dice (Expert Block and being surrounded/knocked down) - 0.31...
